AGS's Commitment to Tribal Gaming
AGS has long been a steadfast supporter of tribal gaming, particularly through its Class II gaming offerings. At the recent Indian Gaming Association Tradeshow & Convention, the company unveiled its plans to extend its reach into the online gaming arena, marking a significant evolution in its strategy.
Digital Expansion and Upcoming Game Launches
During the event, AGS Vice President of Interactive, Zoe Ebling, expressed enthusiasm about the company's trajectory. "We’ve consistently talked about this year after year," she noted, highlighting the exciting developments as tribes begin to explore digital gaming options. AGS aims to create digital content that aligns with the evolving needs of its tribal partners.
Looking ahead to 2026, AGS plans to launch 20 digital game titles, including popular names such as Shamrock Fortunes, Straight Cash, and Rakin’ Bacon. These titles are designed based on successful gaming floor performances, with a keen eye on how they will translate to the online environment. Additionally, classic stepper games, known for their appeal to high-value players, will also debut in the digital space.
Understanding Player Expectations and Market Challenges
Ebling pointed out that today’s players are increasingly interested in understanding their winning potential. "Players want to know how they win, and they want good game math and payout opportunities," she said. This insight informs AGS's strategy to bring forth games that resonate with high-value players, leveraging their success in traditional gaming.
However, the transition to online gaming is not without its hurdles. Ebling acknowledged that there are significant questions surrounding the legislative landscape and the companies that will emerge in this space. "For Class II online to be truly impactful, we need to grasp the process of moving from no digital presence to running a fully functional betting app," she explained, emphasizing the knowledge and content gaps that currently exist.
Collaboration and the Need for Diverse Content
Many providers have adopted a restrictive approach, offering only their own games when using their systems. Ebling argues for a more inclusive model. "We’ve seen this play out across Europe and the U.S., and we know that we’ll need platforms that can accommodate various game providers and types," she stated. AGS is committed to this vision, promising to deliver not just content but also the expertise to guide tribes in entering the digital space effectively.
With a wealth of experience in both land-based and digital gaming, AGS has demonstrated its capability to navigate the complexities of the market. Ebling pointed out that leveraging both sides can significantly enhance player retention. "Players who engage with both digital and traditional platforms see their lifetime value increase dramatically," she noted, suggesting that cross-promotion can lead to substantial growth.
The Path Forward for Tribal Gaming
The potential for growth in digital gaming is significant. Ebling highlighted examples from other sectors, such as state lottery systems, where digital offerings have led to increased revenue. "There’s so much opportunity. It’s easier than you think, but you need to take the first steps to meet demand," she concluded. AGS's initiative aims not only to expand its portfolio but also to empower tribal partners as they navigate the digital landscape, ensuring a collaborative and fruitful journey into online gaming.
