Rivers Casino's Contribution

On April 1, 2026, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh made a notable payment of $2.9 million towards the ongoing construction expenses of PPG Paints Arena, the home venue for the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. This collaboration with the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County has resulted in a total of $127.5 million funded to date.

Annual Payments to Support

As part of its commitment, Rivers Casino contributes $7.5 million annually to the SEA for the financing of the arena's construction debt. These payments are made in two installments each year, with the next scheduled for October 1, 2026.

Future Contributions

Looking ahead, Rivers Casino is set to contribute a substantial $225 million by 2038 under its agreement with the SEA. This funding supports the construction of PPG Paints Arena, which officially opened its doors in 2010, just a year after Rivers Casino commenced operations in August 2009.
