Betty Prepares for UK Launch Amid Success in Ontario

Betty CEO Justin Park announced plans for a June launch in the UK market. Following a successful start in Ontario's online bingo sector, the company aims to expand its footprint while focusing on user acquisition and community contributions.

Betty UK Launch Confirmed for June

Justin Park, the CEO and co-founder of Betty, has officially announced that the operator, which caters to the Ontario market, is gearing up for its entry into the British gambling landscape in June.

During his Q1 update, Park shared that Betty has secured a license from the Gambling Commission, enabling its operations in the UK. The company is adopting a decentralized franchise model as part of its strategy to expand globally.

Park highlighted that the UK team, led by Betty UK CEO Adele Baker, has devised an innovative strategy in response to the recently established 40% online gambling tax rate. This approach goes beyond merely adjusting the return-to-player (RTP) rates or reducing supplier fees.

Looking ahead, Betty UK aims to launch on June 1. The company's medium-term objective is to achieve a return on ad spend (ROAS) that aligns with the performance thresholds set by 23 Broadway, a player acquisition technology platform that recently received significant investment from Betty.

Significant Opportunities in Ontario Online Bingo

In a related update, Chavdar Dimitrov, CEO of Betty Canada, expressed excitement over the early results from the company's online bingo operations in Ontario. He noted that the initial weeks of operation showcased the substantial potential of the product.

Betty launched online bingo in Ontario utilizing its proprietary platform, along with the acquisition of Kirkland Lake Bingo Hall. Dimitrov reported that some games attracted over 5,000 players, indicating a strong demand for this offering.

As the company looks to the future, the focus will shift towards making bingo available every day of the week and effectively acquiring bingo-first customers. Betty aims to establish itself as the leading destination for bingo enthusiasts in Ontario by the year's end.

Dimitrov also mentioned the company’s commitment to community engagement. By entering into a charitable agreement with the HCA of Kirkland Lake, Betty is positioning itself to become one of the largest private charitable iGaming operators in Ontario, underscoring its mission to give back to local communities.

Furthermore, Betty's Canadian operations are on track to launch in Alberta when its regulated iGaming market opens on July 13, expanding its reach in the Canadian landscape.
