Internet Vikings has announced that its comprehensive data hosting solutions will be available in Alberta, Canada, coinciding with the province's anticipated launch of regulated online betting and gaming this summer. Set to go live on July 13, the company will provide a suite of services including VMware cloud hosting, bare metal servers, bare metal GPU servers, and essential disaster recovery and backup solutions.

Alberta Internet Security Requirements

As part of the regulatory framework established by Alberta Gaming, Liquor & Cannabis (AGLC), the province has released specific hosting, infrastructure, and security requirements for online operators. Internet Vikings has expressed confidence that its offerings are already in alignment with these regulations.

Among the key requirements are adherence to SOC 2 and ISO 27001 security standards. Operators will also need to maintain disaster recovery environments, ensure encrypted backups, and conduct routine recovery testing to safeguard data integrity.

He further noted, “We are already working with operators preparing for launch and understand the urgency involved in getting compliant infrastructure deployed quickly.” This commitment is crucial for companies looking to navigate Alberta's regulatory landscape effectively.

Internet Vikings has been operational in Ontario since 2022, and Alberta's regulatory model shares similarities with that of its eastern neighbor. This prior experience positions the company advantageously as it expands its services into new territories.
