PointsBet Reports Slight Decline in Net Win for Q1 2026

PointsBet has reported a net win of AU$202 million for the nine-month period ending March 31, 2026, reflecting a minor year-on-year decline. The sports betting sector saw a drop, while igaming in Canada showed significant growth.

PointsBet Net Win Declines Slightly

PointsBet has announced a net win of AU$202 million (approximately US$144.7 million) for the nine-month period ending March 31, 2026. This figure represents a modest decrease of one percent compared to the previous year. The sports betting division, a key segment for the company, generated $178.4 million (around $127.7 million), which is a four percent decline from the $185.9 million ($133.1 million) reported in the same timeframe last year.

Breaking down the numbers further, the Australian operations contributed $167.3 million ($120 million) to this total, also reflecting a four percent drop. Meanwhile, Canadian operations brought in $11.1 million ($7.9 million), marking an eight percent decrease. However, it’s worth noting that the igaming segment in Canada performed well, generating $23.6 million ($16.9 million), a significant increase of 28 percent from last year’s $18.3 million ($13.1 million). This brings the total net win from Canada to $34.7 million ($24.8 million), a 14 percent rise.

Total Revenue Overview

The overall revenue for PointsBet stood at $186.6 million ($133.6 million), which is down one percent from $188.4 million ($134.9 million) in the prior year. A significant portion of this revenue, $152 million ($108.9 million), was generated from Australian operations, down four percent. In contrast, Canadian operations showed resilience, contributing $34.6 million ($24.8 million), reflecting a 13 percent increase.

Gross Profit and EBITDA Changes

Gross profit for the company was reported at $93.6 million ($67 million), which is a six percent decrease from the $99.9 million ($71.5 million) recorded last year. Of this gross profit, $77 million ($55.1 million) came from Australian operations, down eight percent, while Canadian operations contributed $16.6 million ($11.9 million), representing a four percent increase.

In terms of normalized EBITDA, PointsBet faced a loss of -$0.8 million (-$573,000), a decline from a profit of $1.2 million ($859,000) seen in the prior year. This shift highlights the challenges the company faces in maintaining profitability amidst fluctuating market conditions.
